In response to JEC Composites, the Faculty of Aeronautics, Astronautics, and Mechanics of China’s Tongji College has teamed up with the Shanghai Plane Design and Analysis Institute of COMAC to use steady carbon fiber-reinforced resin matrix composite 3D printing expertise to fabricate a home drone, named ‘Tongfei n°1’.
Tongfei n°1 makes use of a canard-type swept-back wing format with a wingspan of two.1m and has a take-off weight of only one,400g. The usage of steady carbon fiber-reinforced composite 3D printing expertise to fabricate drone components ensures the speedy prototyping of complicated topological construction designs for light-weight drones.
The analysis staff of Professor Li Yan from the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Mechanics of Tongji College is funded by the nationwide key R&D undertaking ‘Massive Format Fiber Bolstered Thermoplastic Composite Supplies Additive Manufacturing Expertise and Gear’.
Tongfei n°1 is a verification of the undertaking’s phased leads to the plane discipline. Through the flight check, Tongfei n°1 carried out properly when it comes to maneuverability, sturdiness, response pace, flight security, and flight stability – totally demonstrating the benefits and potential of this expertise within the discipline of drone manufacturing.
