For 30 years, the Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) has invited older adults, principally retirees, in 19 areas to serve others by bringing their lifetime of expertise to work in “neighborhood organizations [that] work straight with people who find themselves materially poor or in organizations that handle the buildings that have an effect on people who find themselves poor” (IVC web site).
To replicate on their experiences, IVC members take part in month-to-month conferences and skim a non secular reflection e book every year. The 2024–25 e book choice is Seeing with the Coronary heart by Kevin O’Brien, SJ.
IVC President and CEO Mary McGinnity spoke to Eric Clayton on the AMDG podcast. Hearken to that episode featured under. Then study extra about this nice group and methods to get entangled by visiting their web site, ivcusa.org.
