“Now bless thyself: thou met’st with issues dying, I with issues new child.”
—William Shakespeare, The Winter’s Story
With each new starting, we glance again over “issues dying.” We stay up for “issues new child” and we hear these first three phrases, ringing out an invite to us to bless ourselves, and permit ourselves to be blessed.
Can we imagine that God blesses all that’s previous? All the final dying yr? The tasks, the relationships, the successes, the failures? Can we then flip to obtain the blessing of all that can come to start within the yr forward and in all our years to come back?
It’s a sacred second to be current to both a start or a dying. On the turning of the yr we’re current to each on the identical time. A double blessing.
Bear in mind any dyings or birthings that you’ve identified, no matter kind they could have taken. Maintain them in your coronary heart and obtain God’s blessing upon them.
