Velo3D’s $8 Million IP Cope with SpaceX: A Lifeline or a Double-Edged Sword? – 3DPrint.com

Metallic laser powder mattress fusion (LPBF) producer Velo3D has signed an Mental Property License and Assist Companies Settlement with main non-public launch agency SpaceX. The settlement grants SpaceX a non-exclusive license to everything of Velo3D’s additive manufacturing applied sciences. SpaceX can pay $5 million for the deal, with a further $3 million for assist companies associated to the contract.
